The New Travel Paso Has Officially Launched

The non-profit community agency is already hard at work raising international awareness and bringing more sustainable tourism dollars to the community.

Sept. 20, 2017- (Paso Robles, Calif.)- Travel Paso, the community’s new, not-for-profit 501c(6) tourism marketing organization (also known by its operational name Paso Robles Destination), is pleased to announce it is officially up and running full speed, with a new Board of Directors, a new Marketing Committee and currently engaged in a nationwide search for its first-ever Executive Director.

The organization’s key mission is to promote Paso Robles, California as a premier year-round destination of choice for leisure, family, meetings and group travelers resulting in more frequent visits, longer stays and increased revenue throughout the community.

One of the first orders of business was securing a diverse and motivated Board of Directors, one that boasts both institutional knowledge of the region, and a creative vision for Paso Robles’ future.

The newly appointed Board members are:

  • Victor Popp, La Quinta Inn & Suites (Chair)
  • Margaret Johnson, Paso Robles Inn (Treasurer)
  • Alex Villicana, Villicana Winery & Re:Find Distillery (Secretary)
  • John Arnold, Holiday Inn Express & Suites
  • Bill Roof, Adelaide Inn
  • Kathy Bonelli, Paso Robles Vacation Rentals
  • Douglas Ayres, Ayres Hotels
  • Michael Bradley, Paso Robles Event Center
  • Mayor Steven Martin, City of Paso Robles (Ex Officio Representative)

The Board is currently vetting a vast field of highly qualified candidates for the organization’s first Executive Director. The Executive Director will lead Travel Paso, serve as spokesperson, and promote and sell Paso Robles as a marquee tourist and meeting destination, which was named Best Wine Country Town by Sunset Magazine in 2016.

Travel Paso’s new Marketing Committee was recently finalized, as well. The members include:
