Adelaida Cellars Hosts Outstanding in the Field Dinner
Hilltop Setting for the Iconic Outdoor Dinner Series
June 25, 2015 (Paso Robles, CA) – The highest point in the Adelaida District is the setting for the latest Outstanding in the Field Dinner in Paso Robles. On Sunday, June 28, Chef Chris Kobayashi of Artisan Restaurant and their team will be preparing a special dinner in conjunction with the wines of Adelaida Cellars. At 2,320 feet, guests will have 180-degree views of the Santa Lucia Coastal Range and birds-eye views of the winery and the walnut orchards of Adelaida cellars below.
Twenty additional tickets were made available for the dinner this week, which was previously sold out. The meal will take place on the mountain above the winery, in a special clearing aptly called Hilltop. Prepared on site and with ingredients all sourced from local farms, Chef Kobayashi will pair the meal with Adelaida wines, which are 100% estate grown. This extraordinary experience will offer guests the opportunity to taste the wines overlooking the vineyards where they were grown.
For over fifteen years, Outstanding in the Field, has been organizing events that celebrate the farmer and food in a unique setting. They have prepared more than 700 Outstanding in the Field events, made ten coast-to-coast tours of North America, visited 45 of the United States and set their table in a total of nine countries. The meals are inspired to be a “traveling feast with a central vision of farmers, chefs, cheese makers, ranchers, foragers and winemakers in delicious communion with the people they sustain” according to the company’s website. Guests bring their own plates to dinner, a long-standing tradition of the events.
“We were honored to be approached by the Outstanding in the Field team,” said Jessica Kollhoff, general manager of Adelaida Cellars. “For our wines to be served with Chef Kobayashi’s spectacular creations makes for a heavenly pairing.” Kicking-off the event, the opening reception will feature Adelaida wines and Bristols Cider from neighboring winery Lone Madrone. The diverse menu ranges from heirloom tomatoes, oysters, lamb, veal ragu to double-crust peach pie and fresh ice cream.
Located just 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean in the west hills of the Adelaida District of Paso Robles, Adelaida Cellars has a rich history of producing remarkable estate wines. They own five estate vineyards tucked in the hills between Peachy Canyon and Adelaida Road, including the historic HMR Vineyard. The Van Steenwyk family purchased 419 acres of the original Hoffman Mountain Ranch in 1994 and restored it to good health for its growing wine program. Dr. Stanley Hoffman planted the HMR Pinot Noir Vineyard in 1964, and is considered to be the oldest producing pinot noir vineyard on the Central Coast.
Tickets are $205 per person and are available for purchase online.
